Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam has ranked up a controversy by calling the morning azaan 'forced religiousness'.
In a series of tweets, singer Sonu Nigam on Monday called the morning azaan from the mosque 'forced religiousness' and termed it as 'Gundagardi'.
"God bless everyone. I'm not a Muslim and I have to be woken up by the Azaan in the morning. When will this forced religiousness end in India," Nigam tweeted.
The 43-year-old singer raised questions on the azaan when he found himself woken up early in the morning by the Azaan from a mosque near his house.
