TRVL's revolutionary travel booking platform

You can access to the secret world of the travel industry now in India. The brainchild of Dutch entrepreneur Jochem Wijnands, TRVL is a giving travelers permanent and unlimited access to industry rates and exclusive deals with discounts of up to 70% off the lowest internet rates, and pays travelers a commission of up to 12% on every booking and each user into a travel agent with the potential to earn money for their recommendations.

The company currently employs many people, including some heavy hitters in the industry. The company’s COO is Arthur Hoffman, a travel industry veteran set up Expedia in Australia, New Zealand, Japan and India. The company’s CEO Jochem Wijnands sold his previous company to Apple, before it subsequently turned the platform into Apple News, now featured on one or two iPhones around the world. He later became Global President of Expedia’s affiliate network

Through Lyft and Uber, the sharing economy has taken a charge at cabs. Airbnb is making hotels palpitate in their pants. If TRVL has its way, it’s the travel agencies’ turn to tremble. Armed with 2.7 million freshly minted dollars from a conglomerate of angel investors, the company is hoping to augment services like Booking.com, Hotels.com and TripAdvisor by adding a soupçon of crowd magic.

“Today, when you’re researching and planning a trip for yourself or the people you travel with, you’re essentially doing the work of a travel agent,” the company’s CEO, Jochem Wijnands says. He is quick to highlight the biggest difference between you and a travel agent: “You don’t get rewarded for it.”

TRVL’s mobile-first design means you can plan your travel on the go. Which makes sense — you’re meant to be on holiday, and laptops don’t belong on the beach!

“Think of TRVL as TripAdvisor with an earning model,” Wijnands explains. “We believe TRVL will change the way millions of people will book their trips online. Love the concept. TripAdvisor with an earning model.” Wijnands: “We want to encourage, facilitate and reward travelers to help each other make the most out of their trips.”

TRVL also provides travelers with a revenue model. Recommend and share a hotel with your friends and family and, when they book that hotel, you’ll get the commission. You can even create your own travel booking website with us and set yourself up as a travel advisor for your social circle.

TRVL officially launched in June 2017. It offers access to 1.6 million hotels, home-stays and vacation rentals, it has users in over 100 countries and supports payments in 11 currencies. TRVL has received US$ 3.7 million in funding to-date to become a global player quickly.

TRVL is the brainchild of photographer, writer, and global wanderer Jochem Wijnands. When he was 16 he went to Paris on his first solo trip; before he was 20 he had hitchhiked through Europe.

Jochem was a travel photographer for National Geographic and other global publications for 15 years. In 2010, he started TRVL as an iPad magazine and created a proprietary mobile publishing platform called Prss, which was acquired by Apple in 2014 and developed into Apple News.

As for the rest of the team: we’re a bunch of talented and passionate people from all over the world. We share a deep love for travel and a passion for the world we live in; we believe that, through that passion, we’ll achieve our mission to put the traveler first. Always.
