Overwhelming response to Indradhanush-2019 Summer Festival for Children

Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT) had organised Indradhanush 2019, an All India Annual Summer Festival for children from May 18-28, 2019.

In this festival art forms of all the states of the country were represented. 360 children participated, 25 seats were there for each discipline i.e. Odissi Dance, Theatre Pathshala, Creative Puppetry, Creative Writing etc. The Siddhi Samaroh began with the presentation of Odissi Dance by children trained by Guru Kabita Mohanti, disciple of Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra.



It was followed by a small skit on Rakshabandhan by children in the age group of 6-10 years and a puppet show. Folk Dance of Kerala also known as Thiruvathira Kali/ Kaikottikali, beautifully depicted by children, is a Temple Art and is performed during the festival of Onam. Folk song of Rajasthan mesmerised everyone with its rhythm and words. Folk Dance of Haryana left the
audience spell bound by its mysticism and rural touch.



Sattriya- the classical dance of Assam under the able guidance of Dr Bhabananda Barbayan had an outstanding performance wherein the dedicated children enacted some of the basic mudras with grace and beauty. It was followed by melodious Maithili Lok Geet and a short skit by Natyakala school presented by children in the age group of 10-16 years.



The most colourful and vibrant Bhangra Jidwa performance by children made the whole atmosphere lively and charged with energy. Couple of short films were screened mainly on girl child and environmental awareness. The photographs capturing the beauty embedded in nature were displayed. Under Radio anchoring children took control of the stage and delivered meaningful messages on Street Food and environment. The final performance was that of National Anthem played by children on Bansuri.
