Video: VRS plea of food protester constable cancelled: BSF Last Updated : 02 Feb 2017 05:08:32 PM IST (File photo)
The Border Security Force (BSF) on Thursday said that it has cancelled the voluntary retirement plea of constable Tej Bahadur Yadav, who had uploaded a video in social media over poor food for soldiers.
"The voluntary retirement plea of constable Tej Bahadur Yadav has been cancelled owing to the pending court of inquiry," BSF spokesperson Subhendu Bhardwaj told media.
Bhardwaj said that Yadav has currently been kept in his battalion headquarters in Jammu and Kashmir.
"Cancellation of his plea to opt for VRS (Voluntary Retirement Scheme) was communicated to Constable Tej Bahadur on January 30, 2017, evening," said Bhardwaj.
BSF trooper Tej Bahadur Yadav had complained about the quality of food being served to security personnel, and accused unnamed officers of illegally selling off the food supplies meant for the troopers. The video uploaded by Yadav had gone viral in the social media.
The BSF official denied the claims by the family of Yadav of him being arrested and not being allowed to go out of the battalion and opt for the VRS.IANS For Latest Updates Please-
