Narendra Modi ' title='Prime Minister Narendra Modi '>Prime Minister Narendra Modi was felicitated at Diu airport on Wednesday after he returned back from Gujarat's Somnath Temple.
Modi visited coastal Somnath Temple in the morning and offered his prayers. BJP president Amit Shah and former Chief Minister of Gujarat Keshubhai Patel also accompanied the prime minister to Somnath.
Modi also attended a meeting of the Somnath Trust, headed by former Gujarat Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel.
Modi reached Diu airport early Wednesday morning and from there he took a helicopter ride to Somnath.
After addressing a public meeting near Triveni Sangam, Modi offered tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's statue in Somnath.
This would be Modi's first visit to the historic temple after he became Prime Minister in May 2014.
In the afternoon, after returning from Somnath, Modi will address a convention of women sarpanches in Gandhinagar. He would then fly back to Delhi.PM reached Gujarat on Tuesday for a two-day visit. On Tuesday, he inaugurated a much-awaited cable bridge in south Gujarat.
