After five state assembly elections BJP seems to have possessed some sort of magnetic powers attracting leaders from all political parties.

BJP landslide victory in Uttar Pradesh tempts opposition leaders to switch loyalty. The ruling party at the Centre is becoming a haven for politicians who are on the lookout for greener pastures.

In national capital few weeks before the municipal elections,  The latest feather in BJP cap is former Delhi Congress MLA Ambrish Gautam and his son Avinash Gautam; they joined BJP alleging that the Congress had ignored senior leaders.

Another Senior Congressman, former MLA and cabinet minister in the Sheila Dikshit government, Dr. AK Walia, has resigned from the party. Although he had made no moves towards BJP, but before MCD poll his resignation is a big blow to Congress.

In Delhi only a week before, Aam Admi Party MLA Ved Prakash also switched his loyalty to the BJP.
 
To name few more prominent leaders who joined BJP lets start with Karnataka, where former external affairs minister S M Krishna joined the BJP, two months after he resigned from the Congress.

After Krishna, a prominent party face on the television batting for his erstwhile SP, Bhatia joined the saffron party. Former Samajwadi Party spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia quit the party five days before the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections formally joined the Bhartiya Janata Party after BJP victory in state.

BJP‘s biggest gain is in Tripura where, virtually the entire state unit of the Trinamool Congress joined the saffron party, sending signals that the forthcoming assembly elections in the Northeastern state – slated for early 2018 – will be a tough one for the ruling Left Front.
