The government assured the opposition parties and allies on Friday that the military stand-off with China will be resolved diplomatically and peacefully.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs minister Sushma Swaraj and Defence Minister Arun Jaitley held an all-party meet on the issue of India-China stand-off in the Doklam sector and the situation in Jammu and Kashmir arising out of the killing of Amarnath pilgrims last week.

The three-hour-long meeting took place at around 5 p.m. on Friday at Rajnath Singh's residence in the capital.

The parties which took part in the meeting were the Congress, the BJP, AIADMK, DMK, JD-U, Trinamool Congress, CPI-M, TRS, BSP, Samajwadi Party, YSR Congress, Shiv Sena, LJP and TDP.

The leaders of the opposition told the government that they are with them on the issue of national security but added that they had concerns which they would raise in parliament.

The monsoon session of Parliament begins on Monday.
