Covid cases in Delhi jumps to 3,314, no new death Last Updated : 29 Apr 2020 06:16:29 AM IST Covid cases in Delhi jumps to 3,314, no new death With 206 new cases reported in the last 24 hours, the total coronavirus cases in the national capital reached 3, 314 on Tuesday with 2,182 active cases.
While no death was reported in the city on the third consecutive day, a total of 201 patients have recovered on Tuesday, according to the Delhi Health Bulletin.
"A total of 1,078 patients have recovered from coronavirus so far in Delhi while 2,182 cases are active," the Health Department said.
The Covid toll in Delhi remained at 54 since April 25.
Among the total 54 deaths, over half (29) were of those aged 60 years or above, 15 were aged between 50 to 59 and the rest 10 were below 50 years. Also, 46 people (85 per cent) among those who died had other serious diseases as well.
Out of the total 3, 314 cases, 2,213 patients (or 66 per cent) were less than 50 years of age, while 524 were between 50-59 years and 577 patients were above the age of 60 years, the Health Report said.
The report said as on Tuesday night, 12 patients are on ventilators, while 53 are in the ICU.So far, 43,370 tests have been conducted in the city and 3,295 reports are pending.
Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain on Tuesday said there is a jump in the cases from past few days as so many reports were pending. "They came together and so there is a jump in numbers."
According to the Health Bulletin, while 3, 314 reports were positive, 36,195 reports were negative.
There are three levels of coronavirus care in the city for those having no symptoms, mild symptoms or critical patients -- Covid care centres (CCC), dedicated health centres and dedicated hospitals, respectively.
Across the city, there are seven CCCs housing 788 patients, the Health Department said. While the CCC formed in DDA flats, Narela has the highest number of patients at 325, that in Mandoli has 105 patients.
There are two Covid-19 Health Centres having 121 patients. Delhi has nine Covid-19 hospitals having 693 patients.
"LNJP has the highest (207) COVID patients among all the hospitals," the Health Department said.
The nine hospitals also included Central government hospitals and private hospitals. Among the private hospitals, Max has the highest (112) Covid patients.
The positive cases in the city are increasing at a rapid rate since the last 25 days. The total positive cases in Delhi were 97 with two deaths on March 30. By April 10, there were 903 cases with 14 deaths.
So far, Delhi has set up 100 containment zones across the city."Across the red zones, 6,972 samples were collected for testing," the Health Report said.
Daily house to house surveillance and sanitization is being done in the containment zones.IANS New Delhi For Latest Updates Please-
